About Me

Hi Everyone,

My name is Melissa Ortuno and this is my 17th year of teaching and my sixth year teaching Transitional Kindergarten, the best grade! I have been at Stoneman Elementary for 10 years, teaching kindergarten and first grade before moving to TK. My first 7 years I taught Technology at Highlands here in Pittsburg. I love using my techKnowledge in the TK classroom and as the EduTech mentor teacher for Stoneman and as a volunteer staff member with Whole Brain Teaching

I have always wanted to be a teacher and love to create new and exciting activities for my students. I started my teaching career after graduating from California State University, Fresno with a bachelors degree in Deaf Education and Clear Multiple Subjects teaching credential. I am currently taking TK Early Childhood Coursework and working towards a Masters degree.
